We're open and "normal"
We're doing our best to be open again. We're in need of a few good volunteers as main floor hosts to help us get back in the swing again. Mon-Sat 10-12, 12-2, 2-4PM shifts. Two hours a week would help immensely.

- Ian SThis FREE museum is a must see. Fossils, cars, local and world history, and three floors. The history is PACKED into this place and the staff are very helpful and friendly. There are even a couple interactive exhibits including old crank phones and a pedal piano. Well worth the visit for anyone at any age.
- brandon hExcellent! The staff assisted with locating an obituary in a La Crosse, WI newspaper for an ancestor who died in La Crosse but buried at Woodbine Cemetery in Valley City. They scanned the obituary and funeral notices and sent to the sexton at Woodbine who then sent to me via text message. My family and I are happy to have this information! The staff at Barnes County Historical Museum and the sexton at Woodbine provided excellent service! Highly recommended...and thank you!
- Melissa BMy family loves this museum, even my girls. It's a free will donation to go through it and the volunteers are so great at showing you around or showing you unique parts, letting you play the really cool automatic piano. There are 3 levels to go through and make sure to spend a bit of time here!
